When I Almost Sh*t My Pants Rapping

When was the last time you did something you were scared of?

For me, getting up on stage to share my message of mindset and mind-body healing was scary at first – but getting up to RAP was another level.

Fear is something that we deal with normally as humans…it’s embedded in our DNA…

The stress response is pretty much a “fear response”.

Inherently I’ve discovered that most of us feel unsafe walking through the world.
We are threatened by politicians, our boss, co-workers, and even rejection from family members.

That’s what I was facing the day I, a Persian Canadian kid, was speaking to a group of African Americans in the Inner City of New York, and I told them that I had a RAP SONG I wanted to perform for them.

I couldn’t sleep a wink the night before, yet before I went on stage, I got myself into a mindset which allowed me to ABSOLUTELY NAIL IT.

This little shift I wanted to share – so that you could start the week off right, and if you keep it in mind, it could make all the difference.

Here it is:
I stopped making it about me.
I got clear on what my intention was.
It was to share a message of getting to the root cause of our stresses, our negative states of being. Our anxieties, our depressions…

And that our choices matter.  That PILLS DON’T TEACH SKILLS.

My message was for them.

With that in mind, I forgot I was a fish out of water, performing rap to a group of people who were WAAAAY BETTER at rap than I was.

The results speak for themselves. I hope you enjoy this video and remember it all week….

Make it about you – and the fear creeps in.
Make it about others – and the courage you need to step forward EMERGES.

Here for you,

Dr. Nima Rahmany
