All my life I’ve been taught to chase after “success” and “happiness”. The first half of my life had been dedicated to that
It wasn’t until I actually reached every goal I set, that I had to look for the reasons why that empty feeling inside wouldn’t go away.
“Maybe if I achieved more?”
Apparently I was not alone in this. After working with people from all over the world, across the spectrum of “Success” Single moms to Multi-millionaire entrepreneurs, the one factor that was missing, that when you connect with, transforms pain into power, and crisis into purpose.
In Viktor Frank’s book “Man’s Search For Meaning,” he writes
“Don’t aim at success… The more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, can not be pursued.. It must ensue… And it only does so as the unintended side effect of ones personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself, or as the bi product of ones surrender to a person other than oneself. Happiness must happen and the same holds for success. You have to let it happen by not caring about it.”
In today’s episode of Trigger Proof, I cover the Neuro-Science of MEANING… and how to find the “Why” behind the “Why” and WHY that’s important to you.
When you connect the dots, then your confidence to handle situations expands, and you find strength when you felt weakness.
Knowing this makes the difference between a healthy and fulfilling life… and a life where we are endlessly chasing after “externals” like I was.
